A Nigerian lady has lost all her belongings after a candle she brought home from the gym caused a fire outbreak in her apartment.
This was revealed in a post she shared on her TikTok page, where she narrated the incident and posted a video showing the aftermath of the fire.
According to her, the scented candle was given to her at the gym for advertising purposes. She took it home, lit it, and went downstairs to pick up her phone.
Moments later, her sister, who was still upstairs, began shouting, "Fire! Fire!"
She wrote:
"Yesterday was tragic 😭😭 A nightmare I will never forget in my life. I took a scented candle from the gym for ads, I lit the candle and was going to pick my phone downstairs, only for my sister to start yelling fire fire fire... I was startled, shocked, and confused.
"I tried calling the fire service but the line wasn't going through. I also tried calling people I knew, but help wasn't coming fast enough. Eventually, I posted on my Snap, and the fire service came."
She further said,
"I watched my house burn into ashes and I couldn't even do anything about it. If someone had told me a candle would cause all these problems, I would never have believed it. All I have to say is thank you, God, for my life."
