Man Utd want to finally sign £47.6million star next month

Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

In the summer, Manchester United completed the signing of Cameroonian shot stopper, Andre Onana, but failed to lure Belgian defensive midfielder, Amadou Onana.

Back in August, reports indicated that Ten Hag demanded the signing of the play breaker from Everton but the move did not happen.

Now, according to Foot Mercato, Man Utd want to finally hire the services of the holding midfielder, who is also on the radar of Barcelona.

The French media outlet have mentioned that it could take a fee of more than 50 million euros to secure his signature.

Journalist, Sebastien Denis, who covered the story on FM, claimed on his X account that Man Utd are very interested in finally signing Amadou Onana, who can leave next month.

Barca have already met the entourage of the midfielder, who could cost around 55 million euros (£47.6m).

Despite the ten-point deduction, Everton have jumped out of the relegation zone with four victories on the trot in the Premier League and Onana has been brilliant.

Earlier this month, he helped the Toffees keep a clean sheet in the victory over Chelsea. Moreover, last weekend, he netted a goal in the 2-0 win against Burnley.

Currently, Man Utd's main defensive midfielder, Casemiro, is out on the treatment table. In such a scenario, on loan signing, Amrabat, has featured in the DM role.

Casemiro is past his prime and must be replaced with a young and energetic holding midfield star. In such a scenario, 22-year-old, Onana would fit the bil.

Have your say - Should Man Utd spend £47.6m to sign Amadou Onana next month?
