Frank Lampard avoids unwanted '007' stat as Chelsea claim first win since March

Chelsea interim boss Frank Lampard secured his first win in seven attempts with a 3-1 victory against Bournemouth.

The Blues legend, who has replaced Graham Potter until the end of the season, had lost all six of his games upon his return.

With Lampard approaching a seventh consecutive defeat, fans had been hinting at a '007' James Bond gag - meaning zero wins in seven games.

However, Chelsea were able to quash the joke as they won their first match in all competitions since March.

Conor Gallagher gave the Blues an early lead on the south coast as he headed in from N'Golo Kante's cross.

Bournemouth levelled just 12 minutes later though as Matias Vina curled in a superb effort into the top corner.

The Cherries grew into the game afterwards and the Blues had to hold on until the break with the score at 1-1.

It looked as though both sides would leave with a point a piece, but Chelsea scored once again with eight minutes remaining.

Benoit Badiashile rose highest from a Hakim Ziyech free-kick to score his first goal for the club since his January move.

Substitute and loanee Joao Felix made it 3-1 just moments later, netting from Raheem Sterling's run and pass.

Chelsea held on until the final whistle to claim their first win since a victory against Leicester with the same scoreline in March.

The result has seen them rise to 11th in the Premier League, which is still a disappointing standing given their quality.

However, Lampard and co. have finally returned to winning ways with four games left to play this season.
