EPL: Look for a new club - Amorim tells Garnacho after benching him

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club, according to The Athletic.

It is understood that Garnacho is not part of Amorim's plans for the 2024/2026 campaign.

The 20-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 appearances for United this season.

However, he was left on the bench for the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

After the match, Garnacho's brother and agent Roberto Garnacho took to social media to question Amorim's decision.

"Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in the last two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 mins and get thrown under the bus. Wowe hahahahahaha," Roberto Garnacho wrote on Instagram.

Garnacho was also critical of the decision from his manager after the full-time whistle in Bilbao.

"I played every round to help the team reach the final, and today I only got 20 minutes. I don't know. I will try to enjoy the summer and then see what happens," he was quoted as saying by AlbicelesteTalk.

Amorim then aimed a dig at Garnacho during his post-match press conference when asked why the forward had not started.

"It's easy to say that now. Who missed the big opportunity in the first half in the semi-final? Garnacho. Football is like that," he told reporters.
