Thief breaks car in front of Abuja police station, steals laptop and landed documents

A Nigerian man has cried out after a thief broke into his car parked directly in front of a police station in Abuja, stealing his laptop and a bag containing important landed documents.

This was revealed in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @ChuksEricE, who posted a video showing the scene of the incident.

In the video, the victim-believed to be the car and laptop owner-can be heard expressing shock and frustration over the incident.

According to him, the car was parked in front of Zone 7 Police Station, yet it was vandalized without any intervention from the officers supposedly stationed nearby.

"In front of the police station, Zone 7 Police Station, they broke the windscreen and took away the laptop from inside this car," he lamented.

The man also appealed to the public, especially Abuja residents, to help him recover the stolen bag, stressing that it contained vital landed property documents.

"Please, if you reside in Abuja and you mistakenly see any bag anywhere, it contains landed documents," he pleaded. "If you mistakenly stole any bag, please just contact me."

The post has since attracted reactions online, with many questioning the security measures around police premises.
