EPL: He senses danger - Scholes tells Ten Hag to start Man Utd star in games

Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has urged manager Erik ten Hag to give youngster Kobbie Mainoo a run of starts in the Red Devils' next games.

Scholes believes Mainoo could be the key to providing more solidity to United, insisting that he senses danger.

Recall that Mainoo was dropped to the bench against Galatasaray in favour of the more experienced Sofyan Amrabat after a majestic display against Everton last weekend.

However, Scholes believes the 18-year-old midfielder needs to be given the chance to start and is the key to solving Man United's defensive issues.

"It is common sense to bring in players around [the centre-backs] so they stop getting exposed as they are doing," Scholes said on TNT Sports.

"I think [Kobbie] Mainoo could be ato big plus to this team, and he needs a run of games.

"He looks like a player who can protect his back four, but he can also take the ball as well, he can receive the ball, he can start attacks as well - which is needed.

"I think he senses danger and, from what we say at Everton on Sunday, I think now is the time to give this lad a chance."
