'Decisive hours': £60m United target could miss friendly today with deal close.

Manchester United are closing in on summer signing number three, with a deal for Rasmus Hojlund reportedly in 'decisive hours.

Hojlund has always seemed likely to be United's third summer signing with rumors heating up substantially over the last week.

He has been Erik ten Hag's primary attacking target since Harry Kane proved out of reach.

The 20-year-old Dane was so impressive last season, scoring nine league goals in just 20 90 minutes, and has drawn interest from PSG and United.

The move has started to catch fire as a deal is seemingly close, with Alfredo Pedullà reporting on Friday that both sides wanted a deal closed by Saturday.

Atalanta are preparing for life after Hojlund already and have spent £25.7million on their replacement in the form of El Bilal Toure.

'Decisive hours' for Hojlund

Atalanta are currently in England for a pre-season game against Bournemouth, this provide ample opportunity for a Hojlund deal to be closed.

Pedulla has even suggested that the forward might not be involved in the friendly game as a deal is so close and in the 'decisive hours.

The report continues that United have a €62m (£53.2m) plus €5m in bonuses offer on the table, while Atalanta are asking for €68m to €70m (£58.4m to £60m) plus €5m bonuses, therefore with just €6-8m the gap it would be expected a deal can be closed imminently.

This fee whether on the high or low end, will be a record for a Danish player with the current record held by Christian Eriksen who joined Inter Milan for £23m.

This would bring a welcome end to what has become a long-drawn-out transfer saga, which both parties will be happy to see the back of.

Hojlund personal terms agreed.

Once an agreement is reached, Hojlund won't hesitate to sign the contract he has been offered, with personal terms already agreed between the two parties.

It is thought that he wants the Premier League and is waiting for the deal to be completed, as he is keen on working with Ten Hag.

His contract is said to be €4.5m (£3.8m) per year plus bonuses which would see him get a big pay rise from his current salary.
