The Ijaw Protection Forum (IPF) has issued a stern warning to comedian Klintoncod, condemning his recent remarks and alleged defamatory attacks against popular cleric, Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin.
Speaking on behalf of the group, IPF President, Alfred Ebiowei, said the organization would no longer tolerate what they described as persistent mockery and baseless accusations targeted at the spiritual leader.
He expressed disappointment over Klintoncod's recent online behavior, accusing him of hurling insults and making unfounded allegations against Prophet Fufeyin.
"Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is not just a religious figure; he is a father to many and a spiritual leader we hold in the highest regard. It is disappointing that Klintoncod derives pleasure in mocking and insulting him through baseless allegations and unprintable names," Ebiowei stated.
The group emphasized that such acts not only discredit individuals but also threaten the values and unity of the Ijaw community.
"We would no longer remain silent while public figures, especially those in religious service, are subjected to personal attacks and public defamation. We are actively monitoring Klintoncod's online activity and we will take all lawful and available means to defend the integrity of Prophet Fufeyin," Ebiowei said.
"This should serve as the final warning to Mr. Klintoncod and his co-travelers in this shameful behavior, we are not idle, and in no distant time, we will begin to respond to him using every legal tool at our disposal. This insult to our faith and heritage must stop."
The group also called on the public, media outlets, and digital platforms to exercise caution and ensure that unverified, defamatory content especially content directed at religious leaders is discouraged and regulated.
Ebiowei further highlighted Prophet Fufeyin's contributions to society, describing him as a man known not only for his spiritual leadership but for his acts of philanthropy, which have impacted countless lives across Nigeria and beyond.
He added,
"Mr. Klintoncod should know that spiritual things are not for carnal minds, the deep things of the spirit are not for the physical eyes. He lacks understanding of the things of the Spirit."
The IPF stressed its commitment to preserving the reputation of respected Ijaw figures, warning that any further attacks on Prophet Fufeyin would be met with swift legal action.
