The Federal Capital Territory Chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC has threatened to mobilise it's members to shutdown the territory following the area council workers' lingering strike.
Dr Stephen Knabayi, NLC Chairman, stated in an interview with NAN that the territory will be shut down after President Bola Tinubu concludes the ongoing projects' inauguration on July 3.
According to the union, the move is to draw the attention of the FCT administration, especially, the Minister, Nyesom Wike to the ongoing strike.
We reported that all primary health care centres across the territory have been under lock and key.
Similarly, primary school teachers and students have been at home for several months due to the strike.
"Members of the union will take over the streets of Abuja as soon as Tinubu concludes the inaugurations, hopefully on July 3.
"We are waiting for it to end and we will come together to step up our planned action," the chairman of the union said.
We reported that a protest by primary school pupils calling for intervention on the issue, broke out at the gate of the FCT Minister's residence, in Abuja on Tuesday.
