A Nigerian lady has cried out online after being scammed by a man who promised to upgrade her iPhone XR but blocked her after collecting ₦8,000 for delivery.
The incident was shared by the user @\_cheemio on the popular social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).
According to her, she had made a post featuring her XR when a man reached out, offering to get her a better phone.
She said he requested a delivery fee, which she paid, only for him to block her afterward.
"Lol, someone scammed me of my last card, and that was for a new inhaler," she wrote. "He pretended to send me a new phone after my XR tweet, and I sent money for the delivery fee 'cause I felt it was fair to pay for it. When it didn't drop, I asked, and he got angry and blocked me."
"I'm not even angry. It's just so funny 'cause it's 8k that you went that far for? Is that how it is?"
She went on to make several other posts clarifying her claims and describing the man as a scammer.
The post has since drawn attention online, with many trooping to the comment section to share their thoughts.
