Israel has issued evacuation warning for Tehran.
As Israel continues to attack Iran, a missile struck a TV studio during live broadcast on Monday. The missile reportedly landed at the headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) in Tehran, forcing the presenter and others to flee.
The Iranian embassy in India condemned the attack on the broadcaster which is operated by the Iran's State Radio and Television (IRIB) with a picture of the smoke emanating from the building after the missile strike. The embassy claimed that several journalists were injured in the attack.
"A few minutes ago, in a brutal attack, the criminal #Zionist regime targeted the building of Iran's state radio and television (IRIB), killing and injuring a large number of Iranian journalists. We expect independent media in #India to condemn this criminal act, which clearly violates all international regulations," it posted on X.
Israel Katz, Defense Minister of Israel confirmed the attack on the broadcaster saying - "The Iranian regime's propaganda and incitement broadcasting authority was attacked by the IDF after a widespread evacuation of residents in the area. We will defeat the Iranian dictator everywhere."
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), it carried out several extensive strikes on military targets in Iran on Tuesday. These attacks targeted surface-to-surface missile storage sites, launch infrastructure, missile launchers and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) storage sites. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed air superiority over Iran which sent more than 100 UAVs toward Israel on Monday.
Israel has also issued an evacuation warning to citizens in district 3 of Tehran as it intends to demolish the military infrastructure in the area. Katz posted on X clarifying that the Israeli government has no intention of harming civilians.
"There is no intention to physically harm the residents of Tehran as the murderous dictator does against the residents of Israel," he posted. "The residents of Tehran will be forced to pay the price of dictatorship and evacuate their homes from areas where it will be necessary to attack regime targets and security infrastructure in Tehran."
