President Bola Tinubu is celebrating the Chairman of Globacom and Conoil, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., on the occasion of his 72nd birthday.
Tinubu lauded his contributions to Nigeria's economic development, job creation, and philanthropy.
In a heartfelt tribute issued on Monday, Tinubu described Adenuga as a beacon of resilience, vision, and humility, whose entrepreneurial journey has left a transformative imprint across key sectors, including banking, telecommunications, oil, and gas.
"The man Nigerians affectionately call 'The Guru' has, through determination and hard work, built businesses that have created thousands of jobs for our people," Tinubu said, noting Adenuga's exceptional influence in shaping Nigeria's telecoms landscape through Globacom's groundbreaking per-second billing innovation.
The President also praised Conoil's success under Adenuga's leadership, asserting that the indigenous oil company has demonstrated Nigeria's capacity for energy independence and competitiveness against international firms.
Highlighting Adenuga's philanthropic impact through the Mike Adenuga Foundation, Tinubu commended his support for education, healthcare, and cultural initiatives, describing them as "lifelines that have touched countless Nigerians."
Beyond his national contributions, Tinubu celebrated Adenuga's bold investments across Africa and Europe, achievements which earned him international honours such as France's Commander of the Legion of Honour and Ghana's Companion of the Star of Ghana.
"Dr. Adenuga, Nigeria is grateful for your immense contributions to our country's progress and prosperity," Tinubu stated, praying for the business mogul's continued good health, wisdom, and renewed vision.
