Although the agreement is in place, Quenda cannot officially join United until he turns 18 on April 30. The young winger, who made his professional debut under Amorim at Sporting, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Portugal.

Sporting had initially aimed to sell him for his full €100 million release clause, but United have negotiated a deal worth €60 million plus add-ons. The Lisbon club will also retain a percentage of any future transfer fee should United sell him down the line.

Amorim has a clear vision for Quenda's role at United. The teenager's versatility makes him a valuable asset in the manager's preferred 3-4-3 system. Initially deployed as a right winger under Amorim at Sporting, Quenda has also excelled on the left flank, making him an adaptable attacking option for United.

This season, Quenda has made 34 appearances for Sporting, contributing two goals and six assists. His ability to operate on either wing will provide United with much-needed attacking depth.

Once he turns 18, Quenda will be eligible to move to Old Trafford, but his immediate role remains uncertain. Amorim may integrate him into the first team or opt for a gradual development plan, potentially involving a loan move.

With United's new era under Amorim taking shape, the signing of Quenda signals the club's commitment to securing top young talent for the future.
