The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on penalties last night in the semi finals of the AFCON tournament, and I believe that the Video Assistant Referee made two mistakes.
Below are the two Mistakes I believed that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) made during the game last night.
1. Awarding South Africa a Penalty: The referee had to consult VAR before awarding South Africa a penalty in the second half of the game last night, and I believe that it was a wrong call made by VAR.
That scenario doesn't look like a penalty incident to me, as I believe that the Nigerian player made a fair tackle.
2. Awarding Nigeria A Penalty: On the other side, I also believe that the penalty awarded to the Super Eagles shouldn't have been awarded as well, and I believe that VAR made a mistake there as well.
