This tournament features some of the top African national teams, including seven-time champions Egypt and the 2013 champions Nigeria. The prize money for the 2023 AFCON event was increased to $7 million, a 40% rise from the previous edition in 2021.

AFC Asian Cup

Concurrently, the AFC Asian Cup will take place from January 12 to February 10, 2024, in Qatar. Like the AFCON, the Asian Cup will also feature 24 teams divided into six groups.
