Farewell set as Man Utd offer 'indispensable figure' to secure signing - Report

Amrabat Fiorentina

Sofyan Amrabat is reportedly set to bid farewell to Fiorentina following Manchester United's latest offer.

Amrabat joined the Italian club from Club Brugge in 2020 and took little time to establish himself as an indispensable member of the squad.

However, it was his solid performance for Morocco in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar that truly put him on the map, attracting Europe's biggest names to Florence.

Barcelona knocked on the doors in January, but couldn't meet the demands and find an agreement despite the player's desire to move to Camp Nou. During the summer transfer window, he's been linked with another Spanish outfit, Atletico Madrid, and also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia.

Amid all, the Viola have - so far - stood their ground, indicating they will only open the exit door for their star player on their terms. According to a report from Sport Italia, their resilience is set to pay off.

Amrabat will say goodbye after three seasons, as United have offered an 'indispensable figure' for a player who only had 12 months left on his contract in Florence.

It's understood the Red Devils have proposed an offer of 35 million (£30m) that is set to end Amrabat's Fiorentina stint after 107 appearances.

The 26-year-old will become Erik ten Hag's second midfield signing of the summer and another export from Serie A after Andre Onana, who made his debut only this week against Real Madrid. The club's hierarchy is also working on signing Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

Fiorentina need to jump into the transfer market to find his replacement despite having already signed former Liverpool midfielder Arthur, on loan, from Juventus. Such was the Moroccan's importance in Vincenzo Italiano's squad that it's clearly going to take a lot more than injury prone Arthur to fill his void.
