Sheikh Jassim takeover breakthrough, Amrabat deal on the rocks.

Manchester United fans will be hoping for big developments at the club in the final week of the transfer window and things have started off with a bang as Sheikh Jassim is reportedly set to complete his full takeover of the club next month. The Sun report that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has given up on his bid for United and a date has already been set for Sheikh Jassim's takeover announcement.

It brings an end to the nearly year-long takeover saga with United fans increasingly growing frustrated at the Glazers. There was originally some hope that a takeover would have been completed for the summer transfer window, but it now seems the January market will be the new owners' first chance to spend.

United are still hoping to do business late in the summer window with outgoings needed to raise funds. Sofyan Amrabat and Ryan Gravenberch are being strongly linked with moves to Old Trafford but United have not yet lodged a bid for either midfielder.
