United set to close record breaking deal 'by tomorrow'

Manchester United are closing in on their third summer signing, with a deal planned to be closed on Saturday, according to reports.

Rasmus Højlund has been the huge name circling United transfer rumours in recent weeks and has always seemed like the chosen one for Erik ten Hag.

The 20-year-old Danish forward impressed last season scoring nine league goals in just 20 90's.

The move has been on the stove for weeks and has now began to boil quickly, with multiple reputable sources claiming a deal is very close to completion.

Atalanta have even signed their replacement already, welcoming the arrival of El Bilal Toure today which cost them €30million (£25.7m).

Pedulla on Højlund

Popular Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà who has been a favourite of United fans this summer due to the multiple Serie A players linked.

He was very reliable during the Andre Onana deal and now is suggesting Hojlund to United is in "full swing".

He added: "We are no stop, the idea is to close by tomorrow", continuing he said, "The distance is minimal, we continue to negotiate even in these hours, the need for United is to give ten Hag the new striker by this weekend, so that we can allow him the number one on his list very quickly."

Hojlund already has an agreement with United and "can't wait" to secure his move away.

Hojlund fee reported

The Hojlund fee is one which has created a hot topic of conversation this summer among United fans.

According to FootMercato, a contract of five-years with an option for a further year has already been agreed.

Further a deal is now expected to be finalised for around €65m (£55.7m) plus €10m (£8.5m) in bonuses.

The deal would see him become the most expensive Danish player in history.

This figure, providing the bonuses are similar to Mason Mount's 'difficult to attain' targets, could be an excellent move.

Yes it is slightly above market value, but at his age, with his potential and being ten Hag's target, he is a must.
