Transfer: Havertz to wear favourite shirt number at Arsenal

Arsenal are on the verge of signing Kai Havertz from Chelsea and the German could wear his favourite shirt number at the Emirates, according to SportingLife.

The Gunners have reached an agreement with their Premier League rivals over a £65million transfer.

Havertz could become Arsenal's first summer signing once the two clubs have concluded their discussions.

Arsenal can hand Havertz the No 29 shirt he has worn throughout his career.

The 24-year-old made his senior debut for Bayer Leverkusen aged just 17 in October 2016 and donned the same number that he has gone on to wear over the last seven years.

Chelsea paid a whopping £75m to prise Havertz from Germany in 2020 and handed him his favourite squad number.
