3 world-class defenders who could join Man United this month

The Red Devils' back-line has been shaky this season after failing to keep as many clean sheets as they did last season.

Former boss, Jose Mourinho, was understood to have put United chiefs under pressure to sign a center-back before his abrupt sacking in December.

According to a UK Mirror report, the Red Devils have been linked with three defenders, even as the club chiefs settle to decide on who to sign.

We gives you a sneak peek of the three defenders who could seal a move to Old Trafford:

1. Eder Militao

The Brazilian star defender currently plays for Portuguese side FC Porto.

The right-back has established himself as a top defender in the world to see his buyout clause stand at a staggering £42 million.

However, in their bid to land the star, United will have to battle competition from La Liga giants, Real Madrid, who are also keen to sign him.

2. Nikola Milenkovic

The Serbian defender is one of the key players that will reportedly be discussed in January transfer talks at Manchester United.

The Mirror, citing sources at The Sun report that Fiorentina value the defender at £45 million.

However, despite having several targets in mind, the Manchester outfit will not rule out a move for Serbian who has impressed in the Serie A.

3. Kostas Manolas

Manchester United are reportedly interested with the services of the Roma star.
Reports in Italy believe Manolas has been valued at £32 million, with Arsenal also said to be lining up a bid for the center-back.
