South-East group donates ₦200m to support Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid

A prominent political support group in the South-East, the South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), has committed ₦200 million to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027.

The announcement was made during the inauguration and empowerment ceremony of SERHA's Imo State chapter held over the weekend. The event attracted political stakeholders, community leaders, and party loyalists from across the region.

In his keynote address, Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, National Coordinator of SERHA, presented a cheque of ₦200 million intended for the purchase of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination form and to support campaign logistics.

"As ambassadors of Renewed Hope, we are tasked with working tirelessly towards the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027," Enwere said, praising Tinubu's performance in areas such as infrastructure, education, and inclusive governance.

Highlighting the benefits the South-East has begun to receive under Tinubu's administration, Enwere pointed to the $3 billion Eastern Rail Line project as a transformative initiative aimed at boosting trade, lowering transportation costs, and addressing the region's long-standing marginalisation.

"This railway development is a game-changer for the South-East," he declared.

He also hailed the creation of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), which he described as a critical tool for regional advancement, including road infrastructure and erosion control.

Paying tribute to South-East icons like the late Chief Sam Mbakwe and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Enwere also applauded Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State for his developmental strides under the 3R Agenda.

He announced that SERHA would embark on a regional mobilisation tour across all 95 local government areas and 2,344 wards in the South-East, starting in August to galvanise grassroots support for President Tinubu.

"This is the turn of Southern Nigeria to complete our eight years. The people of the South-East will not back down to ensure Tinubu's victory in 2027," he stated.
