Manchester United are one of the most historic clubs in England but the past few years have been very poor from a sporting perspective.
The past couple of seasons have been very poor under the managerial reigns of Erik ten Hag and then Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils have an important upcoming summer. They have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer and he looks set to inherit the number 10 jersey and take over from Marcus Rashford, who doesn't seem to have a future at the club.
Midfield is another area that needs reinforcement for Ruben Amorim. He already has Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte to play in defensive midfield and if he signs someone new, he could do with a more dynamic presence.
Now, as per Canal 26, Man Utd are expected to offer a bid to sign talented Boca Juniors midfielder Milton Delgado. The 20-year-old is predominantly a defensive midfielder who excels at winning the ball back in midfield.
Delgado has played on and off for Boca Juniors and isn't a regular in the team recently and he has played 13 games across all competitions, providing an assist across all competitions. In terms of talent, there is no doubting the 20-year-old.
However, with a contract until 2028, Boca Juniors have all the upper hand in the negotiations. However, with the player also courting interest from elsewhere in South America, the club could look to move him on when his stocks are high.
Ruben Amorim, during his time at Sporting CP, showed a lot of faith in unproven youngsters, which proved to be an excellent tactic for him. That said, at a club of Man Utd's stature, it isn't easy to replicate the same methadology.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen how things play out in this transfer saga as Man Utd look to advance and improve the squad this summer. A gamble on Delgado might not be a wise choice. Let's wait and see how things play out.
