A Nigerian man has exposed how a thief who stole a generator worth ₦1 million from a gym-restaurant was arrested after foolishly returning to the same place to eat and have fun.
The story was shared in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, by user @mr_cjayerus.
According to him, the suspect initially visited the establishment-Candles, located in Agu Awka-posing as someone interested in gym membership.
After surveying the environment, he returned later with a tricycle and some accomplices to steal the generator.
Unaware that his face had been captured by CCTV during the theft, the man boldly returned to the restaurant days later to eat and unwind.
While enjoying his meal, the police, who had been informed, arrived and arrested him on the spot.
The post read:
"Earlier last week, this guy went to a restaurant/gym house at Agu Awka called Candles and st0le a generator worth an estimated ₦1 million."
"He came very early in the morning and pretended to be making inquiries about the gym membership. When he noticed that the coast was clear, he went away and came back with his guys and a Keke which they used to stole the gen."
"Today he went to the same place to have fun, unknown to him the CCTV captured his face while stealing the gen. He was caught while eating what he ordered and was taken away by the police."
