A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to cry out for help after she, her mother, and her sister were allegedly arrested and detained by police officers, accusing them of brutality and theft.
The series of posts were shared via X (formerly Twitter) by the lady identified as @introvert_birdy, who detailed the ordeal and called on the public to come to their aid.
According to her, the police arrested not only her and her family but also two of their neighbors.
She did not disclose the reason for the arrest but stated that the officers stole her phone and physically assaulted her sister right at the station.
In her words:
"I was just brutalized in my own home! Police stole my phone! Beaten in my own home!"
"Police! They are thieves! They treated me like a criminal! Nigerian police! Maggots!"
"We got to the station and my sister was still beaten to a pulp! In the police station! I've been detained in a cell with my mum and sister!"
"I need help! Please! RT! I've been detained! My mum, my sister, and two of my neighbors! They have all our phones!"
Her distressing posts have sparked reactions online, with users demanding accountability from the police.
