Football pundits, Rio Ferdinand and Ally McCoist have criticized Barcelona midfielder Pedri for Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries' scissor-kick goal during both sides' UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg tie on Wednesday.
They insisted that the Spain international should have got his head kicked off so as to prevent Dumfries from scoring.
Barcelona and Inter Milan played a 3-3 draw in the first leg of their semi-final on Wednesday night at Camp Nou.
The Serie A champions took a shock lead inside 30 seconds through Marcus Thuram.
Dumfries doubled the lead for the Nerazzurri after 24 minutes, with a brilliant scissor-kick from a corner kick.
Pedri was closest to the Netherlands international as he connected with the ball with Ferdinand and McCoist insisting that the midfielder should have been braver and put his body on the line to prevent the goal.
"I tell you what, Pedri has got to go in there and get kicked," Ferdinand said on commentary for TNT Sports.
"I think he's just jumped away from the ball. Look at it here, he doesn't go towards the ball he jumps away from it.
"You have got to go in there and get your head kicked off a little bit and take one for the team," he said.
On his part, McCoist added, "You are absolutely spot on. Because if he does go with his head I think that goal gets disallowed."
