Popular Nollywood actress Kate Amaka Henshaw, widely known as Kate Henshaw, has called out the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for making a grammatical error in a social media post.
The actress took to the platform X (formerly Twitter) to correct the mistake, urging JAMB to be more careful with their communication.
JAMB had issued a statement to clarify the schedule for an upcoming examination, stating:
"@PeterObi, Your Excellency, I must assert that our examination is scheduled to commence at 8:00 am, not 6:00 am."
"While verification and other clearance processes begins at 6:30 am, it is imperative that candidates are afforded adequate time..."
In her response, Henshaw pointed out the error in the sentence, specifically the incorrect use of "begins" instead of "begin."
Quoting JAMB's statement, she wrote:
"By the way @JAMBHQ, it's not 'while verification and other clearance processes BEGINS.' It is 'while verification and other clearance processes BEGIN!! I had all my education in this country. It was never this bad."
While many overlooked the error, Henshaw's correction quickly gained attention online, with many users chiming in to share their thoughts.
The actress's post sparked a conversation about the importance of proper grammar in official communications, especially from government bodies.
