Cristiano Ronaldo tries to punch referee after receiving red card as Al-Nassr get knocked out of Saudi Super Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo's tumultuous outing in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final captured headlines as he saw red.

The Saudi Super Cup semi-final turned into a fiery showdown as Cristiano Ronaldo's frustration boiled over, resulting in a red card for the superstar.

His team, Al-Nassr, faced a disastrous display against Al-Hilal, culminating in a controversial and heated exchange that stole the spotlight.

Controversial Disallowed Goal Sparks Chaos

The clash took a tumultuous turn when Al-Nassr believed they had scored a crucial goal, thanks to Otavio, only to see it disallowed.

The frustration mounted as Ronaldo, in an offside position, failed to connect with the ball, leading to the controversial decision. Enraged by the ruling, Ronaldo engaged in a heated dispute with the referee, setting the stage for further drama.

Ronaldo's Red Card

The situation escalated rapidly for Ronaldo as he received a yellow card for vehemently contesting the call. However, the climax of his downfall came when he lost his composure and unleashed an elbow at an Al-Hilal player, resulting in a straight red card.

He went further, gesturing to punch referee Mohammed Khaled Al-Hoaish, before sarcastically applauding the official.

Al-Hilal won the clash at the end of the day, beating Ronaldo's team 2-1. Salem Al-Dawsari scored the opener and Malcolm made it two. Sadio Mane pulled one back for Al Nassr late in the game, but it was not enough, as the Farid Najd were knocked out of the Super Cup.
