The Super Eagles of Nigeria has a big game ahead of them in the African Cup of Nations tomorrow when they battle Cameroon at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in what looks to be an intense clash. The Nigerian National Team have a lot to prove in this very encounter as they will be hoping to get the better of this Cameroonian team to aid their advancement to the quarter-final stage of this tournament.
Well, in this article, I will be mentioning three players who need to step up to bolster the Super Eagles' chances of defeating Cameroon in this crucial AFCON encounter.
1, Victor Osimhen.
In all honesty, Victor Osimhen's performance in this tournament for the Super Eagles hasn't been convincing. The Napoli Forward who was tipped as one of the favourites to win the AFCON Golden Boot this year has only managed to score one goal in the competition. Victor Osimhen remains an important player for the Super Eagles and a masterclass performance from him will be needed in this game to bolster the team's chances of defeating Cameroon.
2, Stanley Nwabali.
Cameroon have scored five goals so far in this tournament which shows they always test their opponent's goalkeeper during matches. Stanley Nwabali who is presently having a good performance in this AFCON tournament will be expected to bring out his best performance against Cameroon. The Chippa United Shot-Stopper will be tasked to make some important saves in goal for the Super Eagles to strengthen the team's chances of coming out victorious in this game.
3, Alex Iwobi.
Surprisingly, Alex Iwobi hasn't been a top performer for the Super Eagles in this African Cup Of Nations. His creativity which he is well known for hasn't been really exhibited in this tournament for Nigeria. The Fulham Midfielder will have to step up his performance in this game to help create goalscoring chances that could push Nigeria to defeat this Cameroonian team.
