The sole survivor of the Air India plane crash, Ramesh Viswashkumar, will receive ₹25 lakh (approximately $28,000) as interim compensation from Air India.
Recall that social media was struck with tragedy on June 12, 2025, following an Air India plane crash that resulted in 241 fatalities, with details still unknown as investigations are underway.
This amount is in addition to the ₹1 crore (approximately ₦177.6 million or $85,000) support already announced by Tata Sons, the parent company of Air India.
The final insurance payouts for passengers will be determined under the Montreal Convention of 1999.
Moreover, the airline has pledged to provide ongoing support to the survivor and the families of the victims during this difficult time.
