Jose Mourinho releases a powerful ten-word statement after leaving Roma

Mourinho has spoken for the first time since he was dismissed as AS Roma manager on Tuesday morning.

Jose Mourinho has finally broken his silence following his sacking as AS Roma manager on Tuesday morning.

Roma sack Jose Mourinho

Mourinho was dismissed as The Giallorossi boss, with AS Roma sitting in ninth place on the Serie A table.

The 'Special One' initial contract was supposed to expire at the end of the season, but Roma took the decision to relieve him of his duty following the side's 3-1 loss to AC Milan at San Siro on Sunday night.

The Italian club released a statement on their social media pages and official website, confirming Mourinho's departure.

Roma's statement read: AS Roma can confirm that José Mourinho and his coaching staff will leave the club with immediate effect. Mourinho was unveiled as the Giallorossi's 60th coach in May 2021.

He led the team to win the Conference League in Tirana on May 25th, 2022, and to the Europa League final in Budapest last season.

"We would like to thank José on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club," said Dan and Ryan Friedkin.

"We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club.

"We wish José and his assistants all the best in their future endeavours."

Emotional Mourinho reacts to his sacking

Following the decision, Mourinho took to his Instagram page to give his reaction. The Portuguese tactician released a ten-word statement which read: Sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love, brothers, history, heart, eternity.

The former Chelsea manager also added a video reel, which highlighted his highs and lows during his time at the club.

Mourinho was also visibly emotional while leaving Roma's training base, Trigoria, for the last time. The ex-Real Madrid man was almost brought to tears as Roma fans chanted his name while they tried to take a selfie.

Mourinho's emotions are understandable, though, as he has always spoken about how he has never had the kind of emotional connection he has with Roma at any of the clubs he has managed in the past.
