Nigeria Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface successfully completed his surgery to fix his knee injury.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has given a hilarious update after he completed a successful surgery on his knee.

Boniface left Nigeria's Super Eagles camp in Abu Dhabi for Germany following an unfortunate injury that ruled him out of what would have been his debut at the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON2023.

Boniface's injury mire

The 23-year-old was looking forward to his first tournament with the Super Eagles after his inclusion in the 25-man squad for AFCON2023.

Boniface joined his compatriots in camp as Jose Peseiro and his men kicked off preparations for the competition slated for Cote d'Ivoire.

Victor Boniface was forced to return to Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Nigeria's quest for a fourth AFCON title suffered another setback when the Leverkusen fan favourite missed out on two pre-tournament friendly matches.

Nigeria thrashed El Gharbia 12-0 before losing to fellow Africans, Guinea, 2-0, with Pulse Sports reporting thereafter that Boniface had picked up an injury and would return to his club Bayer.

Bundesliga leaders Leverkusen confirmed that Boniface is set for an extended time on the sidelines as he would require an surgery to fix his knee problem.

Boniface successfully went under the knife, with the club and player taking to social media to share the positiv feedback with fans and well wishers.

Victor Boniface has become sensation on and off the pitch.

The Nigerian, who is also popular on social media platform, X, for his hilarious post, did not disappoint his followers with his update on the surgery.

"BBL done and dusted," Boniface stated on his official page on X, formerly Twitter.

The Super Eagles, who is now set to spend three months nursing himself back to fitness, will watch his national teammates battle for honours in Ivory Coast from January 14th against Equatorial Guinea.
