Man United release a statement on their Stance regarding the European Super League competition.

Manchester United has unequivocally stated that they will not partake in the proposed revival of the European Super League, affirming their commitment to UEFA competitions as reported by Manchester World.

This announcement follows the recent decision by the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Justice, which declared that UEFA and FIFA had acted 'unlawfully' in obstructing the original league's formation.

The ruling essentially opened the door for a new league format to be explored.

Having been one of the 12 founding members of the ill-fated 2021 attempt to establish a breakaway Super League, Manchester United faced swift opposition from fans, leading to the demise of the plans within 48 hours.

Despite this setback, the idea of a revamped league persisted, and A22 Sports Management proposed a new format featuring three divisions based on sports merit and a novel free streaming platform.

However, Manchester United has chosen to distance itself from this reincarnation.

In a released statement, the club said, "Our position has not changed. We remain fully committed to participation in UEFA competitions and to positive cooperation with UEFA, the Premier League, and fellow clubs through the ECA on the continued development of the European game."

Following suit, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, also founders of the original league, have similarly distanced themselves from the new format.

Simultaneously, the UK government has taken a strong stance, vowing to obstruct English clubs from participating in any future breakaway league.

A statement from the Department for Media, Culture, and Sport emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, "The attempt to create a breakaway competition was a defining moment in English football and was universally condemned by fans, clubs, and the Government.".
