The international future of Bournemouth top scorer Dominic Solanke Ayodele Solanke was once again on the menu after his goal in his team's 3-0 win over Manchester United at the weekend in the English Premier League.

Solanke headed home the second goal in the shock win at Old Trafford taking his goal count for the season to eight in sixteen games. Only four players have scored more goals than him this season after the round of games played so far.

Born to a Nigerian father and an English mother, the 27-year-old represented England at various youth levels but he is still eligible for Nigeria at senior level with only one senior cap to his name for England.

Asked about the possibility of having him play for the Super Eagles, a source close to the player said it is a discussion that will make sense after the Africa Cup of Nations because of the timing.

He said a more proper timeline is having him play for the Super Eagles at the next world cup in 2026, around when he will be 30 years old citing that the lure of playing in the world cup isn't one that can be wished away.

The one thing he admitted that will still keep him in the loop for a discussion to play for Nigeria will be if he continues to bang in the goals at a top level and an England call up didn't happen.
