Why Manchester United star LEFT training just FIVE minutes after arriving ahead of Brighton clash

The Red Devils saw an odd issue occur this morning

Manchester United star Anthony Martial has been pictured leaving Manchester United training just minutes after arriving at Carrington after he turned up to training at the wrong time.

The striker started against both Nottingham Forest and Arsenal but has yet to score this season and is widely expected to be taken out of the starting XI when summer signing Rasmus Hojlund is fully fit, with the Dane making his debut in the 3-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

But that switch could come sooner rather than later, with Martial the latest man to spark injury fears in Manchester.

As per the Daily Mail, 'The Frenchman was pictured arriving at the club's Carrington base in his Mercedes G Wagon at 8.55am but then snapped driving back out shortly afterwards at 8.59am.'

However, the Manchester Evening News report that the striker left after 'he was informed training was later in the day' in what appears to be a blunder on the Frenchman's part.

The Red Devils, currently 12th in the Premier League, play host to high-flying Brighton this Saturday and Martial is expected to be part of the squad.

Ten Hag is already preparing for the game without Brazilian winger Antony, who is on paid leave as he responds to allegations of domestic violence, while Jadon Sancho is also out in the cold after a public fallout with the manager in which the forward accused his boss of making him a 'scapegoat'.

They could also be without defender Lisandro Martinez, who was not fit enough to play any part in Argentina's World Cup qualifying matches over the international break after picking up a foot injury against Arsenal, an absence that could see Harry Maguire restored to the first XI against the Seagulls.
