Kylian Mbappe tells Nasser Al-Khelaifi he won't leave PSG this summer during 'animated' meeting

In an "animated" private face-to-face meeting with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Kylian Mbappé (24) has said that his decision to remain at the club this season is final, according to Le Parisien.

Mbappé was left out of PSG's tour of Japan earlier this summer, and when the squad returned to Paris, the France captain was not reintegrated into the first team. Despite his marginalisation, Mbappé has made the definitive decision to remain with Les Parisiens this season, come what may. The club's position is clear - if Mbappé doesn't sign a renewal, preventing him from leaving on a free next summer, he will be deprived of game time.

Whilst the hierarchy at PSG believe that Mbappé already has an agreement in place to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, he won't be joining the La Liga side this summer. Al Khelaifi has said that once Mbappé extends his deal, he will be reintegrated into the first-team set-up, but the Frenchman, who was left out of the LFP pre-season media day, has no intention of doing so. He signed his renewal in May 2022 on the premise that PSG would bring in big players last summer. Mbappé reportedly feels "betrayed" by the club's failure to sign Bernardo Silva and Robert Lewandowski. He told the club that he wouldn't be extending in the wake of this failure, according to Le Parisien.

Despite the club's insistence that he won't feature this season, Mbappé is now set to remain at PSG beyond the transfer window before leaving on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
