Kylian Mbappe made his feelings clear after his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, claimed their first-ever Champions League trophy. Luis Enrique's side defeated Inter Milan 5-0 in a dominant final, with goals coming from Desiree Doue, Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Senny Mayulu.
PSG have rebuilt their squad and image in the wake of Mbappe's unceremonious exit. He joined Real Madrid after prolonged and sour negotiations, eventually leaving on a free transfer, with Lionel Messi and Neymar also exiting the French capital in recent years.
But a more functional team was forged by Enrique and spearheaded by Ousmane Dembele in the absence of those superstars, which took European football by storm and claim a historic victory.
Tensions between Mbappe and PSG had been simmering before his exit, and it had been unclear how the World Cup winner felt about his former side's newfound success, as he is still in search of a first Champions League winners medal himself.
But minutes after the final whistle blew, the Real Madrid star took to Instagram to send a classy message: "The big day has finally arrived, Victory and in the style of an entire club, congratulations PSG."
