A58-year-old man, Monday Ossai Oshiji, has been arrested by the police in Delta State for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl (names withheld).
Oshiji, said to be married to four wives, was arrested by policemen attached to Umutu station at Ebedei Ukwuole, Ukwuani Local government area of the state.
He allegedly lured the girl, a Junior Secondary School pupil (JSS1), with N50 to an uncompleted building where he allegedly raped her.
The Nation gathered that thr suspect had carnal knowledge of his victim twice and threatened to kill her if she revealed his illicit relationship to anyone. A source said that the suspect lived close to the girl's family house.
"The time, he raped her, he did it in an uncompleted building.
"The third attempt was what exposed him after he allegedly forced her to take drugs unknown to her," the source alleged.
The source said the matter became public following excessive bleeding by the girl who eventually opened up to her mother.
Contacted the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright confirmed the incident.
