Kylian Mbappe returns to training at Paris Saint-Germain less than 72 hours after World Cup final heartbreak with France

Despite his recent World Cup final sorrow, Kylian Mbappe has already made his way back to training at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old scored a hat-trick in France's final against Argentina, although his efforts did not prove to be enough for a second world title of his blossoming career.

Les Bleus drew 3-3 in extra-time but lost 4-2 on penalties, with the reigning champions unable to retain their crown.

However, amid the disappointment, Mbappe is already setting his sights on the rest of his season with PSG.

In a video from the club's Twitter account on Wednesday, the star can be seen arriving at their training ground.

Mbappe will be keen to put France's shortcomings behind him, with the forward being so crucial in their run to the final.

He netted five goals before the match against Argentina and became only the second player to net three in a final after Sir Geoff Hurst in 1966.

His eight total goals also saw him win the competition's Golden Boot, but it is now time for him to switch his focus back to domestic duty.

PSG last played back in mid-November, securing a 5-0 win against Auxerre in Ligue 1.

A home match against Strasbourg next week will be their first game back after the break, with the French giants sitting top of the table.

They are unbeaten in all competitions this season, with Mbappe netting 19 in 20 games thus far.

He is also just 11 goals away from becoming the club's record goalscorer, a title currently held by Edinson Cavani with 200.

At such a young age, Mbappe already has an impressive list of honours to his name, including one World Cup title.

He may not have been able to guide France to victory this time around, but he will surely get many more opportunities to do so in the future.
