EPL: Pochettino takes decision on becoming Chelsea's next manager after Tuchel's sack

Former Paris Saint-Germain coach, Mauricio Pochettino, is open to taking the Chelsea job following Thomas Tuchel's sack.

Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea on Wednesday morning following the Blues' UEFA Champions League 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.

The likes of Pochettino, Brighton's Graham Potter and former Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, have been linked with a move to replace Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Athletic, Pochettino, who previously replaced Tuchel at Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, is 'open to the possibility' of taking the vacant role at Chelsea.

The Argentine has been out of work since he was sacked by PSG at the end of last season.

Pochettino spent six years in charge of Chelsea's fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

He led Spurs through their most successful Premier League period despite failing to end their trophy drought, reaching the Champions League final in 2019.

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, believes Chelsea, under the leadership of their new co-owner, Todd Boehly, should appoint Pochettino ahead of Potter as the club's new manager.

"If you asked me if I was a Chelsea supporter who I would like to see manage my club, I'd go for Pochettino," Carragher said on Wednesday.
