Real reason Anthony Joshua lost again to Oleksandr Usyk - Deontay Wilder

American heavyweight boxer, Deontay Wilder, has given a reason Anthony Joshua lost in his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk last Sunday morning.

Wilder believes Joshua was defeated by Usyk because he lacked confidence during the contest against the Ukrainian in Saudi Arabia.

Usyk saw off a spirited performance from Joshua to seal a split decision win in their rematch last weekend.

The undefeated Ukrainian successfully defended the IBF, WBO and WBA belts he took from Joshua last September in London, adding the Ring Magazine title, vacated by Tyson Fury last week, to his collection in Jeddah.

However, Wilder believes Joshua showed a lack of confidence in the build-up to the fight against Usyk and has questioned the 32-year-old's mentality.

"Sometimes you just look at both fighters, and sometimes the eye test will tell it all.

"The body language is telling a story, the way the momentum of a fighter is telling a story, you could look at Usyk and tell how confident he was, how the tables have turned, you could tell he owned it, he feels like who he is.

"With Joshua, you could tell that he wasn't himself, his usual self of being motivated and secure within himself," Wilder told ESNews on Wednesday.
