EPL: Lampard names Chelsea's biggest title rivals this season

Former Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, has named Manchester United and Liverpool as the club's Premier League biggest title rivals this season.

Lampard stated this ahead of Chelsea's UEFA Super League final tie against Villarreal on Wednesday.

Chelsea finished in the fourth position in the Premier League last season behind Liverpool, Manchester United and champions Manchester City.

Speaking on Chelsea's rivals this season, Lampard was quoted by Football London as saying on Monday: "I think you can't discount Manchester United. They were not far off last year and they have gone again and brought in really impressive signings.

"I think Liverpool will be the same, they missed huge players through injury for a big part of last season and the year before, they were one of the best teams we have seen in the Premier League. You can't discount them.

"As much as you can't discount the teams pushing those from just behind. Leicester, we saw win at the weekend, West Ham improved greatly, Aston Villa loses Jack Grealish but are bringing in strong players. It makes for an exciting season."

Chelsea will start their 2021/22 Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace this weekend.
