Super Eagles legend reveals 1 big problem Ighalo has been facing at Man United that people don't know

Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi believes Man United on loan striker Odion Ighalo will struggle to get into the Red Devils starting XI as he is only a back-up striker at the club.

Ighalo arrived at Old Trafford in January after Marcus Rashford picked up a back injury which ruled him out of action for three months.

The Nigerian striker immediately hit the ground running with his outstanding performances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, scoring four goals and providing one assist in four starts.

Ighalo has scored in every single game he has started for Man United equalling a 95-year record set in 1925 by Man United great Jimmy Hanson.

But despite his five goals and one assist in 14 appearances and a contract loan extension with the Red Devils until January 2021, Ighalo has now found playing time very hard to come by.

He has been an unused substitute in Man United last two games against Southampton and Crystal Palace and according to Amokachi, Ighalo has to take the back seat now that both Rashford and Martial have found their scoring boots.

Amokachi told Brila FM: "Manchester United brought in Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua as a back up to then injured Rashford. Now, Rashford is back from injury and so Ighalo has to take a back seat again.

"Our brother Odion was not loaned from Shanghai Shenhua as a starter at Man United but he has scored in the matches he started so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may even decide that he has done well and deserves to have an extended time there, you never know.

"We cannot expect him to have more playing time than the likes of Rashford and Anthony Martial because he is only a back-up there."

Ighalo is yet to start a Premier League game for Man United, with all his nine appearances in the competition coming from the bench.

He could however be fancied to lead Man United's attack when they take on Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinal on Sunday, July 19, at Wembley stadium.
