Yakubu Aiyegbeni reveals what Nigerians are doing to him 10 years after missing a goal against South Korea

Former Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has explained that Nigerians are still angry about the goal he missed at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa against South Korea.

The 37-year-old explained that many still send him messages as regard the empty net he missed against South Korea.

Yakubu Aiyegbeni's miss truly remains one of the worst misses ever in the history of football and not the World Cup alone.

Nigerians were so angry after the former Blackburn Rovers' man missed the goal which could have given the Super Eagles glorious chance in the game.

And now Yakubu explained that he feels bad because people have not forgotten what happened ten years ago.

''I felt bad when I missed it, but people are still talking about it.

"I have always done my best to help the country but it's weird that people still send me messages till date even on social media about that miss," he said.

The game against South Korea ended 2-2 with Yakubu Aiyegbeni scoring late penalty for Nigeria which failed to take them to the round of 16.

Meanwhile, Yakubu Aiyegbeni played 57 games for the Super Eagles during his active playing days scoring 20 goals.
