Revealed: Man United players responsible for Mourinho sack after they threatened a mutiny

Four Manchester United squad members played major role in the sack of Jose Mourinho on Tuesday, December 18, after threatening club chief Ed Woodward with a transfer request.

According to The Mirror report and the Daily Star, each of the four players were left unhappy by Mourinho's behaviour to some squad members and went behind the tactician to air their grievances with Woodward.

And they also disclosed their plans to quit Old Trafford in January should the Portuguese remain at the helms of affairs.

Woodward was eager to stall the players from carrying out their threat as the atmosphere around the club was tense with cliques springing up at Old Trafford.

He eventually sent Jose Mourinho packing early in the week and named club icon Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager until end of the season.

The report further revealed that the treatment meted out to the trio of Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial and Eric Bailly by Jose Mourinho did not go down with team members, but will be banking on Solskjaer to help reunite squad members.
