A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to raise alarm over the physical and emotional abuse suffered by her close friend, a wife who was allegedly beaten with a cane by her husband, contracted an STD from him, and eventually lost her pregnancy.
According to her account, the woman's friend, who has been married for less than a year, has been repeatedly subjected to domestic violence, emotional trauma, and constant infidelity from her husband including with his baby mama.
The disturbing revelations were shared across multiple posts on social media, including video evidence and witness accounts.
In one of the posts, she alleged that the husband dragged his wife from the kitchen to the bedroom, demanded access to her phone, and upon her refusal, began flogging her with a cane the same one used on their dog.
The beating left the woman hospitalized.
After returning from the hospital, her ordeal allegedly continued. The husband reportedly demanded sex from his wife despite her condition and acted as though nothing had happened.
The woman later fled to her parents' home, but on returning, she found another woman stark naked in their matrimonial home, claiming to be the man's fiancée.
In an emotional follow-up, the woman who shared the story wrote:
"I called her to hear what really happened. She said she was in the kitchen watching movies when he came and took her phone, saying he was hungry. They were even joking at first."
"Then he told her to unlock her phone. She asked why, and reminded him he already knew the pin. He said he didn't. She said, 'Figure it out.' That's when he got angry."
"He dragged her from the kitchen to the room, then brought out the cane they use for their dog - and used it on her. I've got the nurses' numbers, her neighbors too. I did my investigation. This lady deserves better."
"After being discharged, they returned home and he still asked her to lie down for sex. With her condition. And he acted like nothing happened. Her parents got involved. Her mom had just lost another daughter four days before the wedding. Now this?"
"Instead of remorse, his mother started turning her son against his wife. He stopped eating her food, stopped sleeping in her room."
"One day she was sick and told him. He said it wasn't his business and left to sleep in a hotel with another woman. His friend can confirm."
"She went home to get care. Her neighbor called and told her what was happening in the house. She packed her bags and left."
"Weeks later, while trying to rebuild her life, she discovered she was pregnant. She didn't tell anyone. She carried it alone. Trauma messes with you like that."
"Hoping for closure, she returned to the house - only to meet another woman, naked, in his bed. Seun wasn't home."
"She asked the girl, 'Do you know Seun is married?' The girl laughed and said, 'He's not married. He's my fiancé. We've been together for a year. Take it up with him."
The woman's posts have triggered widespread outrage online, with many calling for justice and accountability in cases of domestic abuse.
