A Nigerian businesswoman has fallen victim to a scam after paying ₦509,000 to someone posing as an Indomie supplier, only to later find out she had paid the wrong person.
The incident was shared on TikTok by the businesswoman, known on the platform as @smile_wholesalefoods, who recounted how the scam unfolded.
According to her, some individuals recently came to her shop to promote their products, including a woman who claimed to be a noodle supplier.
The woman pleaded with her to support her business by purchasing cartons of Indomie noodles.
After some back-and-forth, the businesswoman agreed. Not long after, a bus arrived at her shop to deliver several cartons of Indomie, reportedly under the instruction of the same woman.
Feeling pressured, she transferred over ₦500,000 to the woman, who confirmed receiving the payment.
However, things took a turn when the driver who delivered the noodles revealed that his boss - the actual supplier - had not received any money.
Upon further investigation, it became clear that she had paid someone impersonating the real supplier. The woman she had been dealing with had no connection to the Indomie company.
In frustration, the businesswoman said: "This is the reason I will never, ever in my life... no matter what you want to buy, I'll never do payment on delivery."
She added: "They just scammed someone. Their bus is still here but someone has already collected the money. I can't do anything because I've paid."
She also revealed: "Someone chatted me up claiming to be an Indomie supplier and said the company gave her a target of three trucks."
The video has since gained attention online, with many concerned users flooding the comment section to share their thoughts and sympathies.

The person has the right to pack her market back because she did not confirm your money and if you feel like stopping her, she will tell you to provide the receipt and if they see that her name is not on it, then she wins the case 🌚."
