Man unable to speak after stealing goats and chickens

A man has reportedly lost his ability to speak and now communicates only by mimicking the sounds of goats and chickens-coincidentally, the very animals he admitted to stealing.

The bizarre incident was shared in a viral video on TikTok, capturing widespread attention online.

According to reports, officers at Majengo Police Post in Mombasa, Kenya, received a tip-off from members of the public about a strange case involving a teenager, identified as Baraka Joseph, who was seen within the Majengo Sokoni area.

Upon arrest, Baraka was unable to speak and communicated by writing on a piece of paper.

In his written confession, he admitted to stealing two goats and two chickens from a resident believed to be of Kamba origin. He stated that he sold the goats for KSh 3,000 and the chickens for KSh 1,000.

Further details revealed that Baraka had traveled from Nairobi to Mombasa by bus on June 4, 2025. According to his statement, he was able to speak normally throughout the journey.

However, upon his arrival in Mombasa, he mysteriously lost his speech and began making the same animal sounds as the livestock he had stolen.

The unusual nature of the case has sparked a wave of speculation and concern on social media, with many describing the incident as a form of spiritual or supernatural consequence.

As the story continues to circulate, it remains unclear whether Baraka's sudden speech loss is being medically or spiritually addressed, but the public remains deeply divided over the possible cause of his condition.
