Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen added another feather to his hat after a stellar spell with Galatasaray.
Victor Osimhen's dazzling debut season in Turkey just got even better, as his stunning overhead kick against Antalyaspor has officially been crowned the Goal of the Season in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Nigerian striker's acrobatic finish lit up social media and stadiums alike, capping off a campaign filled with unforgettable moments.
Osimhen's overhead brilliance bags award
It was a goal that belonged in the Louvre. In Galatasaray's 3-0 win away at Antalyaspor last October, Osimhen pulled off a piece of magic that instantly etched his name into Turkish football folklore.
Deep into stoppage time, with his side comfortably ahead thanks to a Mauro Icardi brace, the Nigerian striker scored what would eventually be the goal of the season.
As a looping free kick floated into the box from the right, Osimhen shrugged off a defender who tried to muscle him out of the way and launched a breathtaking overhead kick with his back to goal.
The strike rocketed into the top corner, leaving the Antalyaspor goalkeeper frozen and fans stunned. It was only his third goal at the time, but it set the tone for what would become a history-making season.
Osimhen enjoys historic loan spell at Galatasaray
Osimhen didn't just rely on that one highlight reel moment during the season with Galatasaray, he was relentless.
On loan from Napoli, the 26-year-old finished the league season with 26 goals and five assists, winning the Golden Boot and propelling Galatasaray to a record 25th league title.
He added six Europa League goals and five more in the Turkish Cup, including a brace in the final against Trabzonspor. That brought his grand total to 37 goals in 41 matches.
Unsurprisingly, Osimhen was also named Galatasaray's Player of the Season and made history as the first Nigerian to win the Turkish league's top scorer award.
