Police assault soldier in Udo, Benin for refusing to give them money

A clash reportedly broke out in Udo Community, Benin, after a police officer allegedly assaulted a soldier for refusing to give him money.

The incident, which surfaced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), has sparked widespread reactions online.

According to the viral post, the assaulted soldier reported the matter to his colleagues, who then stormed the police post in large numbers.

They identified the officer involved, seized his rifle, and disciplined the officers allegedly responsible for the assault.

In the video shared online, one of the angry soldiers can be heard saying: "This police, una dey beat soldiers. Una get mind oo. Na their rifle be this. Una say make e give you money, e no gree, you're beating a soldier."

The soldier explained that despite identifying himself as a military personnel, the police still proceeded to assault him after he declined their demand for money.

As the video made its way online, many users took to the comment section to express their outrage and call for proper disciplinary action.
