A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to recount a terrifying encounter after allegedly falling victim to a "one chance" bus in Oshodi, Lagos, where she claimed she was jazzed, robbed of her belongings, and dropped off in an unknown area.
The account was shared via a detailed thread on X (formerly Twitter) by the user @KhadijahMaruf.
She narrated how the incident unfolded while she was returning from Oshodi during the last days of Ramadan.
According to her, she lost consciousness after a man touched her inside the bus, and when she came to, she had been taken to a small room by the abductors who took everything from her - including her phone, cash, and even her AirPods.
After stripping her of all she had, the suspects performed an incantation and handed her ₦2,000 to find her way back.
However, the money mysteriously vanished when she boarded a bus, leaving her confused and in tears until kind strangers came to her aid.
Below is her full statement:
"I am now healed to share the story of how I entered 'One Chance Bus' on the 27th of Ramadan. I was coming back from Oshodi. I was fasting and I was very tired. I entered a bus going to New Garage from Under Bridge Oshodi but it broke down halfway, so everyone had to come down."
"I didn't even want to waste time because the sun that day was much. I walked towards Charlie Boy bus stop then I saw a korope heading to New Garage. It was empty so I entered with a man who I later found out was part of the kidnappers."
"I used to hear that they normally jazz people but I didn't believe it until it happened to me firsthand. The man that entered used his body to touch me while we were about to enter the bus and from there I didn't know what was happening."
"Long story short, I found myself in a small room. I was just doing everything these people told me to do, like I didn't have control over my mind. They asked me for my phone, I gave it to them. Then they asked if I had any money with me - I gave them all the money I had with me."
"They started asking me questions which I wasn't responding to so quickly because I was listening to Al-Qunut before they took me. So the man touched my ear and realized something was in my ear. He asked me what was that. I said AirPods. He said I should remove it and I gave it to him."
"After they collected everything, one man entered and started saying something on his palm - I guess it's incantations sha. After he was done, he gave me some money and he said, 'Gba two thousand Naira yi ko lo wo moto Oshodi.' They sha dropped me off on one street I don't even know."
"After some minutes of walking on the street, I fully came back to my senses, so I realized I had been jazzed. I saw a small boy and asked him how to get to Oshodi. He told me to walk to the end of the street."
"As I got to the end of the street, I saw a bus shouting 'Yaba' so I entered. I was holding the money they gave me so tight, but when I sat down in the bus and wanted to pay, the money had disappeared. I started crying. I told the conductor my money had fallen down."
"Everyone in the bus helped me look for it, but it was nowhere to be found. I'm still very sure till today that it didn't fall - it disappeared from my hand. The lady beside me in the bus paid my fare to Yaba. Another lady in front of me gave me ₦1k when we got to Yaba."
"I still don't know where exactly those people took me but it's somewhere after Ojuelegba sha. I keep thanking Allah till today. I don't even want to imagine what could have happened if things went differently, because that's the same way they kidnap people and ask for ransom."
"I have heard stories of 'one chance' before, but this time, it was me. I lived it and somehow, I came out alive. Alhamdulillah - for if not for Allah, I probably wouldn't be the one writing this today."
"And to those ladies that helped me with tfare that day - may Almighty Allah continue to bless you both 😭."
Her story has since sparked emotional reactions online, with many sympathizing with her.
